An influential figure in the hip hop community, KRS-One is a Grammy-nominated rapper that is often credited by critics and other hip hop artists as epitomizing the "essence" of an MC, as well as, being one of the greatest rappers to ever hold the mic. Vermont's own iLL iNTELLEKs and Deuce & Mil round out the bill.
Image and Blindog are iLL iNTELLEKs, a multi-talented duo hailing from Burlington Vermont. Image has been writing and producing music since the age of eight. The songwriter turned lyricist is most known for his work with the underground hip-hop trio, Dark Cloud. Blindog is a veteran FM radio DJ, an accomplished vocalist, and an experienced musician. In 2005, the pair began constructing a multi-faceted hip hop sound all their own. With front man Image's countless years of production skill and Blindog's diverse instrumental contributions, these two musicians are already leaving their mark on the East Coast hip hop scene.
From the heart of the boogie down Bronx, Deuce and Mil have come to make an impact on Burlington while still not forgetting their NY swagger. Deuce (A.K.A. the George Clooney of the rap game) represents his music group back home, Sinista while Mil (A.K.A. Maximilion) holds it down for his home music group, Grimey Gang. What makes these two stand out is that they both have unique rap styles. Deuce, comes through with the laid back and flashy flow, while Mil has more of a cocky and hardcore style. The two met by chance at the University of Vermont where they currently attend. Upon realizing each others talent, they set out to bring raw, street hip hop to the UVM campus and beyond. With enough buzz surrounding their first two mixtapes, Diamonds in the Rough and Definition of Swagger, Deuce and Mil are set to drop their third head-banger, Double Jeopardy featuring local Burlington talent as well as New York including the production of Bronx producer, Vision. Together, Deuce and Mil are bumrushing the Burlington hip hop scene while still holding true to their roots in NYC.
