104.7 The Point, Sierra Nevada & Halogen Records welcome
Aptly tagged '1930s punk', Squirrel Nut Zippers' unmistakable sound is a perpetually evolving, hybrid-stew of Southern roots traditions, blues, and jazz. Combining beguiling vocals and anachronistic compositions, the Zippers promise to both charm and confound.
Busted Brix is a 7-piece Vermont horn rock/ska band. While the group ranges stylistically from melodic indie rock to mindless punk and catchy ska, the powerful three-piece horn section consistently drives its material. Upbeat keys and energetic guitar riffs complement intricate horn harmonies, coupled with solid drums and bass, to generate the band’s distinctive flavor of rock, ska, and punk. Completing the band’s sound, its vocals and lyrics feature levels of musicality and depth typically uncharacteristic of ska and punk.
