Andriana Chobot and Joe’s Big Band are collaborating to provide a unique performance of her amazing vocal talents backed by big band arrangements of jazz, blues and funk.

“Armed with an expressive alto”, Andriana Chobot, a “theatrical voice that likely owes some debt to the emotionally forthright work of Rufus Wainwright and Sarah McLachlan” (SEVEN DAYS), brings an eclectic mix of pop-heart-rock, with a touch of jazz, that immerses the listener into an original soundscape. Whether it’s just her solo, delivering an electronic piano centered performance, or equipped with her band of local talent, she delivers renditions ranging in upbeat originals, covers and cool, ethereal ballads, with “fluttering piano…one very reminiscent of Imogen Heap, among others” (Local Blog; ‘Classically Trained’) Andriana Chobot recently premiered her new video to her latest single “Like It’s the Last Time,” and “Galaxy Eyes” which teases her first full-length album, “RETURN TO SINCERE” available now! Touring locally with her original music, her appreciation for the standards in jazz history have deeply influenced her songwriting. After years of playing live, she’s honored to be showcasing her love of jazz with a fully backed big band:

Joe’s Big Band is a 17-piece jazz ensemble based in the Burlington area that has been performing music ranging from Swing Era classics to contemporary jazz, blues, and funk throughout northern Vermont for over 30 years. The band was founded in the late 1980’s by local jazz musician Joe Levesque. Joe enjoyed giving musicians opportunities to play, as well as sharing the music he loved with many appreciative audiences at concerts, dances, weddings, and Lake Champlain dinner cruises. Since his passing in 2004, Joe’s Big Band has carried on in Joe Levesque’s memory, continuing to evolve into the high-energy force it is today. The band is made up of talented, fun-loving musicians from all over the Champlain Valley who faithfully reproduce the timeless sounds of the masters like Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Woody Herman, Stevie Wonder, Brian Setzer, and many more.
