RYAN SWEEZEY AND THE MIDNIGHT WALKERS
Vocally dynamic and palpably emotional, singer/songwriter Ryan Sweezey brings his infectious and meaningful alt-rock to every stage he plays with an earnest sensitivity and expert execution. Ryan transplanted to Vermont from Boston after years of cutting his teeth as a solo acoustic performer and has continued to hone his craft in the Green Mountain State. His band the Midnight Walkers features an all-star lineup of Vermont musicians with Joshua Glass on keys, Chris Doncaster on bass, and Eric Belrose on drums, plus Sweezey trading his acoustic guitar out for a Telecaster.
Brought up with a love for classic rock and eventually developing an affinity for 90’s alt-rock, Ryan’s musical roots are deeply ingrained in the styles of Tom Petty, the Allman Brothers, and the Rolling Stones funneled through the lens of artists like Matchbox Twenty, Counting Crows, and The Goo Goo Dolls. His hook-heavy songs feature introspective lyrics and memorable melodies that are easy for any audience to latch onto.
Ryan has racked up recognition around New England both as a solo artist and with the band, being nominated for six New England Music Awards and four Seven Daysies, as well as winning the 2019 Advance Music Singer/Songwriter Contest.
Tom Bianchi, talent buyer for 24HourMusic, writes “Ryan is one of the most consistent and crushing performers I’ve ever come across…With million-dollar pop/rock songs all day long, killer voice, and rock solid guitar skills, Ryan has the potential of a John Mayer-type career.”
Sweezey has released five studio albums, with a sixth on the way this year. His most recent full-length release was 2022’s Out Searching, which features the singles “Kings of the Broken,” “Honest Liar,” and “My Turn.”
